The Road to Hell

is paved with pretension. I suppose the actual word I'm looking for is pretentiousness. At any rate, thanks to some soon-to-expire frequent flyer miles we are now receiving The Economist. I think we thought such a magazine would make us smarter. Then we started getting it and we both noticed two things:
  1. There is a lot of text and it's in a smaller font than other magazines we've subscribed to in the past like Time or Newsweek.
  2. There aren't very many pictures and there's no entertainment section at the back.


So it seems that not even The Economist can enlighten us. But since there's no entertainment section, we've both been reading the actual articles, so maybe there's hope for us after all.
