It's Over

Farewell Summer by Ray Bradbury
Farewell Summer: A Novel It evoked memories of Dandelion Wine, one of my favorite books, but it wasn't quite as good or maybe I was just biased by my cousin Stacy's review.

War and Peace by Tolstoy
War and Peace (Penguin Classics)
Of course it was a great book. Mostly I'm just embarrassed that it took me five years to get through it. Although I can't really say anything profound about Tolstoy, I will say that his amazing ability to capture people and events is what kept me reading although I did have a really hard time getting through the last fifty pages. It was a discussion about free will and after reading nearly 1400 pages I just didn't feel very well equipped to make it through a philosophical discussion. At any rate, now I feel like I should go back and re-read it, or maybe not. I don't quite feel the sense of accomplishment that I'd thought I'd feel, but it was an incredible experience reading the book.

Congrats on finishing! What an accomplishment. . . especially with a new baby in the house.
